Coast & Country Housing

Coast & Country Housing

Coast and Country Housing was set up in 2001 to take over the ownership and management of the housing stock and ancillary housing assets from Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council under a Large Scale Voluntary Transfer Initiative (LSVT). Creation of the company followed a successful ballot of 11,600 tenants of the Council who voted overwhelmingly "yes" to a change of landlord, the promise of substantial investment in their homes and the enhancement of housing services.
A total of 11,623 housing units plus a number of related comercial premises, offices and garages were transferred to the Company on 15th July 2002.
Following a number of property sales, primarily Right-To-Buys and a small scale demolition programmes, the Company's total housing stock stood at 10,494 as at 31st March 2007.
