Coatham House supports young people aged 16-25 years old with housing needs, to prepare them for independent living. Coatham House does not just offer a homeless young person place to stay but also offers practical and emotional support,to ensure they develop the skills required to maintain their own tenancy once they move on from Coatham House.

Action for Blind People

Action for Blind People

Action for Blind People is an expert national organisation, ensuring blind and partially sighted people get practical support in all aspects of their lives.


Action North East Middlesbrough we support visually impaired people by giving information and advise, find employment, access training, housing,source assistive technology and arrange visual awareness training for potential and existing employers. We are happy to advise other organisations on any matter regarding visual impairments.

We also offer free, confidential and impartial information on services for blind and partially sighted people of any age, also welfare rights and benefits advice. Our Actionnaires Clubs offer opportunities for children and young people to engage in sporting and leisure activities. Support with assistive technology and encourage diversity.

Access into employment for visually impaired people, jobsearch, CV writing etc. Information & support, Welfare Rights, independant living & leisure activities.

We have 4 hotels which cater especially for visually impaired people located in Windermere (Manor Hotel), Weston-super-Mare (Lauriston Hotel), Bognor Regis (Russell Hotel), Teignmouth (Cliffden Hotel)

Connexions

Connexions is a new support service providing advice,guidance/support and personal development services for all 13-19 year olds.

Connexions is an innovative and exciting development in the world of young peoples services. It's about helping young people navigate their way through decisions about studying, jobs and careers.

It's also about helping young people get the support they need if they have personal issues. It could be supporting them if they have problems with drugs, health, money or possibly any difficulties with their home life. Connexions is for all young people, helping them make informed decisions about their futures.

Through Connexions all the services that help young people are brought together and young people are given access to a Personal Advisor, someone they can trust. The Personal Adviser (PA) gets to know the young person and can offer appropriate information, advice and support. PA's keep in close contact with the young people they are supporting. They can help smooth a young persons path through what can be a difficult time enabling them to make the most of their individual talents and abilities.

Coast & Country Housing

Coast and Country Housing was set up in 2001 to take over the ownership and management of the housing stock and ancillary housing assets from Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council under a Large Scale Voluntary Transfer Initiative (LSVT). Creation of the company followed a successful ballot of 11,600 tenants of the Council who voted overwhelmingly "yes" to a change of landlord, the promise of substantial investment in their homes and the enhancement of housing services.
A total of 11,623 housing units plus a number of related comercial premises, offices and garages were transferred to the Company on 15th July 2002.
Following a number of property sales, primarily Right-To-Buys and a small scale demolition programmes, the Company's total housing stock stood at 10,494 as at 31st March 2007.
The company is committed to achieving the promises made to tenants at the time of the ballot, and monitors achievement against them. The company is a ' not for profit ' local Housing Company Limited by guarantee. It is a Registered Social Landlord (RSL) and is regulated by the Housing Corporation

Working links was founded in 2000 and operates in 184 locations across England, Scotland and Wales. It is a unique organisation that delivers services to tackle social exclusion and poverty by helping disadvantaged individuals and communities.

The organisation's belief that employment is the best route out of poverty has helped more than 120,000 people back into work which is one person every seven minutes of the working day.

It is public-private-voluntary company that helps and supports people who face significant challenges and barriers such as those who have been unemployment for a long time to former offenders, lone parents and older workers.

One-to-one support with areas such as C.V development, confidence building, jobsearches and interview techniques are available from qualified and commited consultants and training routeways are also available to ensure that clients have a knowledge of their job before they start.

By helping the most vulnerable in society to improve their skills and help them move into jobs with a future, Working Links can create a greater sense of social inclusion. This leads to better health, eduction, reduced crime and brighter futures.
